Amrut single malt whiskies are steadily gaining accolades as well as prestige awards all over the world. No doubt, Amrut is one of the most exciting new single malt whisky producers to come on the scene during the last few years.
Scotland’s Duncan Taylor & Company was established in 1938 and has ownership of one of the largest privately-held collections of rare scotch whisky casks. The company has been laying down casks from premium Scottish distilleries for decades and has, in recent years, made its branded products available to whisky connoisseurs throughout the world.
Another new region, not previously known as a whisky producer is Denmark. We are now offering a range of Danish single malt whiskey made from the finest ingredients at Mikrodestilleriet Braunstein.
Douglas Laing and Company has a proud history as an independent scotch whisky business supplying high quality scotch whiskies to a worldwide market. Amongst Douglas Laing’s back catalogue of whiskies is the Old Malt Cask range which was launched in 1998. The Platinum range is a selection of malt whiskies bottled at natural cask strength. These are bottled in traditional style bottles and are individually numbered. Their Provenance range is a selection of single malt whiskies from Scotland.
A distillery that has put Sweden on the international whisky map - Mackmyra. Founded in 1999 by eight classmates - alumni from Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. This distillery is situated at the Mackmyra Bruk old facilities,
During the days of the Pilot Distillery more than 150 different recipes were tried, with variations made in barley sorts, smoke fuel (besides peat, alderwood, juniper twigs and spruce twigs were used), yeast brands, duration in fermentation time and - of course - adjustments on the stills. The barrels typically range in size from 30 to 100 litres, although there are a few bigger and smaller ones, the smallest containing less than 2 litres. The materials of the barrels vary too: the majority is made from fresh Swedish oak, some are remade bourbon barrels and a few are used sherry barrels.
Kavalan is Taiwan’s only distillery. Using equipment made in Scotland, the Kavalan distillery was built in just 8 months in 2006. Since then Kavalan has won several honors since being first marketed in December 2008, including a gold medal at the International Wine and Spirit Competition and a silver medal in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Kavalan Soloist Fino Single Cask has been awarded the title of New World Whisky of the Year by the author of the Whisky Bible Jim Murray.
